Honored and a tad nervous

Like a lot of people I know, I’m most comfortable behind the lens or screen or one on one, over public speaking.

Today I try something new.

I’m honored to have been asked to speak at this year Bookfest about cover design with two other woman I’ve recently met, Pamela and Amy.

I’m comfortable with what I want to say and the slideshow I’ve put together, but I’m nervous about speaking and pray I don’t forget it all. I enjoy photography and I enjoy designing book covers – how hard can it be to tell fellow authors about it?

Kim, You will be a star because you know your subject. I have seen some of your covers and they are enough to sell the book. See you at the Blue Ridge Bookfest this afternoon.

I made a few mistakes, but I’m as glad that I did it, as I am that it is done. Now I can go back to the comfort of one on one behind the scenes.

Amy and Pamela were both wonderful and the people that came to hear us were nice enough to bear with me.

I plan to put a version of my presentation on my website and YouTube soon.

Don’t forget about my Pinterest board for Discovering NC authors. https://www.pinterest.com/khmaxwell/discovering-nc-authors/

I have to say I’m better at writing than speaking, but I’m the most comfortable behind my camera or designing book covers.
