What I’m reading for April 2018. Kingsbury, Meyer and a multi-author

Forever is the fifth and last book in The Baxters  Firstborn Series. I will be reading more from her and look forward to the TV series.

Joyce Myer’s books have been on my bookshelf for ages. I have been pretty emotional lately so I picked up Managing Your Emotions: Instead of Your Emotions Managing You. I skimmed more than reading this one. I have a pretty blessed life and I’m loved. I know we are to forgive and I try- even if I find in my own worldly flesh, that I’ve picked back up an unforgiving heart, I just repeat and give it back to Jesus again. Some things are harder than others to let Jesus handle without wanting to help.  I know we are to forgive just as we’ve been forgiven. I liked reading about love in  1 Corinthians 13:5 that it is not touchy.

I like the short stories and I learned with Chicken Soup for the Soul books to read them, not listen to them while driving as I always end up crying. Chicken Soup for the Soul: 101 Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit made me feel bad about complaining about my shoulder. I saw a video this month too about a little boy with pure joy on his face after climbing the stairs to the slide and going down the slide all on his own – and he was limbless. Kind of puts my temporary pain in perspective.

512jat3rpbl-_pi_pjprime-sash-extra-large-2017topleft00_ac_us218_I got the ice pack and Tyler and I watchedA Man Called Ove. It was on my list to read after being recommended and you have to read the movie so I guess that counts.
The book was probably better…. they always are. Unless I missed it I never really got what the “white-coats” wanted with the house and why they’d be coming for his friend Rune.  I thought it was nice to see a Ragdoll in a movie, Tyler thought the 2 hours of cuddle time was the best part.

I’m still working on cleaning up my hard drive and getting photos of Trinity and Tyler to have the metal silhouettes made. Now that I’ve learned Tyler has a heart murmur, I’m anxiously awaiting the appointment I made with a veterinary cardiologist.  So basically I’ve teared up a bunch for the last 2 months. I’ve made some changes on my shoulder PT and I’m really looking forward to it healing and the pain level being better than before surgery. I’m working on culling photos and I’ve started dabbling a bit again in taking photos for fun, as long as it means I’m not gone from home for long periods of time.

Think I need to choose some upbeat book, or maybe some of the photography books sitting on my bookshelf for May!

I tend to like thrillers, mysteries or Christian based novels.

Here is my pinboard on NC Authors, and my post about what I think authors want you to know.

and there is Paperback Swap for those of us who still want to hold a real book in our hands. Here is the list of books I have to swap.

If we like the same kind of books I’d love to hear your recommendations ~
