What I’m reading June 2018
I paged through some of my photography books. Boy, I should’ve read them many years ago as it may have saved me a lot of trial and error in the early days. Then again by doing things what I did learn along the way probably was remembered better than just reading it.
Camera club print competition and numbers theme
I didn’t make the time to choose, purchase, and assemble any prints for this year’s competition. I spent over $70 last year getting stuff for it and even though I have some of the matting stuff now, with all of our other huge expenses going on now, I couldn’t justify spending any more. I wonder if they’ll have a monetary prize for the winners this year? I mean over the last few years the yearly fee has gone up 75% and the membership is the highest I’ve ever seen it. There used to be a one and I hope this year’s winners get something for their efforts.
Most of my personal photos live on my computer and are just shared online just for fun unless of course, I’ve shot a photo for a book cover or product for a client. Here is Tyler “helping” me put the dice in a row (over and over).
If you want Roan Mountain basically to yourself- go early and in the rain.
I’ve now been to Roan Mountain three times, to the gardens and Jane’s Bald twice, Round Bald and Grassy Ridge once. We walked the Roan High Bluff at Cloudland Trail once too. It’s been devilishly hot, in the 90s here lately to do much outdoors. We worked in the yard on Saturday and I ended up dehydrated and exhausted with a splitting headache by dinner time. I wanted to go up in elevation enough it was cooler. Continue reading

3 month post surgery shoulder update
If enough had changed I was going to update the diagram of what hurt where but very little has changed in the last month besides me gaining new knowledge.
I went to my follow-up that really didn’t really answer much of anything. I decided to get a copy of my MRI and surgery report. Continue reading
It is well, it is well with my soul
A day out enjoying God’s creation with the man I married is just what I needed. I had tried to go see a Sunburst Falls while hubby was at his yearly golf weekend but things just didn’t work out. I really wanted to see it but he really preferred I not go alone and said we could go when he got back even though he is extremely busy right now. Boy, am I glad I waited.
I prayed nothing unexpected would happen with Tyler while we were gone and we took off for the day to see a list of six waterfalls I picked out. Finding them along with my shoulder issues were both greatly helped by my husband. All of them had mileage from an intersection but I wanted to see Sunburst Falls first so he had to add and subtract mileage to find where to park for the next waterfalls on the list. Plus he was better at maneuvering my low sitting car around the uneven ground and even thru water.
