Happy Thanksgiving Y’all
Where to take people visiting WNC?
Ideas, I need ideas!
Not everyone wants to hike to find waterfalls, or get up early to see a sunrise. If you’ve got ideas I beg of you please list ’em and keep ’em coming.
My 3rd appointment with Dr. Hall and 8 months since my shoulder surgery I wish she had done.
Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t realize a cortisone shot was going to be suggested ahead of time! Continue reading
I can see for miles and miles — NOT.
Well, that was part of the plan anyway after reading Rich Stevenson post about Continue reading
Autumn sunrise, a few falls and a capture I’ve been wanting to get.
Since it doesn’t look like we’ll ever be doing away with time change, June and I decided to get up to view the almost 8am sunrise. Still up at 5am for coffee and the hour long drive to get Continue reading
Happy 9th birthday to Sofia
So this sponsorship thing has not really gone like I’d imagined it would. In the almost 2 years since we’ve sponsored Sofia, we have received 2 or 3 fill in the blank letters from her. “My favorite color is brown” kind of thing. I feel I don’t really know her at all and I’m not sure she gets the individual gifts we’ve sent for her in the past. So this year we just did the extra monetary birthday gift and will say an extra prayer for her and her family today on her birthday. I guess I kind of hoped for a relationship of some kind. I hope she knows we think of her often and really does get the letters and gifts.
Maybe it is because she is young or maybe it is because she lives in such a remote area, but we’ll keep sponsoring as long as we are able and will keep her in our prayers.
Do you sponsor a child thru Compassion Child? What is your experience?

Falls Falls Falls in Fall
We drove to these falls by way of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I went ahead and had my full pot of coffee and was quite surprised to see all the Parkway bathrooms closed with portajohns in their place. Continue reading
We can usually drag-out leaf chasing around here
If we start in the higher elevations and move to lower elevations, then over the state line to South Carolina, we typically can visually soak up more than the average leaf peeper.
But this year, Continue reading
