Am I a racist?

I don’t think so, but… I am confused.

I apologize for posting twice so closely together. I’m probably going to get a lot of comments on this, but any with hate will be removed.

If you voted for Obama just because he was half black and no other reason, doesn’t that make you a racist?  I think if you voted for someone based on skin color alone— that is a problem. Same goes for if you vote for a female or male on gender alone. I really liked the candidate Ben Carson. I’m white. He’s black. He’s a male. I like what he stood for more than the white female he was running against.

If you think having a separate black Miss America, or BET/ black entertainment TV channel, or just black lives matter, is all okay…. doesn’t that make you a racist?

Why do blacks say they’re African American? Why not just American? I don’t say I’m German American with some Native American thrown in. I wasn’t born in Germany. I was born, here in America, probably just like you. Are we all Adam Americans?

You have no control over the skin color you are born with. I think Jesus is a brown-skinned man. We are ALL made in His image. We all matter to our Father.

Blacks, do you want white people to be color blind?
Do you want us to segregate specific things for being specifically black or you want to not?

You can’t have it both ways.

Affirmative action? why? why not hire and promote people on their skill instead?

At a recent church service, our black preacher gave a long story about a black heart transplant patient receiving the heart of a white guy.  After he told the story about the heart beating and the mom hearing her (white) sons heartbeat in the black guy, and we’re all the same as a human race.  He also said, “you guys are just missing it”. I almost said out loud (in church) “No shit“

I don’t think so. I don’t think I missed anything. I mean we all bleed red. OF course, it doesn’t matter what skin you to receive an organ! Lots of other stuff, but nope, not skin color. I’m a donor.  I don’t care what color someone is, if they can benefit from my organs.

It actually bugged me that he assumed the mostly white congregation didn’t get it and we were missing something.

The message came with diversified in our unity in Christ. Okay. I get that, all Christians are children of Christ. We are all made in His likeness. We all come from Adam. Jesus died for all of us. Every creed. Every color. Every nation.

We can’t erase the past, well I guess people are trying. We shouldn’t erase the past. We should learn from it. Was slavery wrong? Absolutely. Was there black slave owners too? yep, sure were.  I bet no-one knows anyone still alive that owned slaves. Shall I be judged based on what my ancestors did? I had one that murdered someone. Is that a crime I committed or condone. Nope. If blacks go back just far enough to dwell or keep bringing up slavery, why not go all the way back to when Jesus created Adam? Why just go back to a certain point in history. It is just that. History.

I agree racism and chauvinism is learned. In a perfect world, people wouldn’t bully, wouldn’t judge people who are not like them, whether it be gender, skin color, financial status etc.

The pastors went on to say go outside people that look like you and invite them to lunch. Talk to them about their upbringing. I get the idea behind that but hey, I don’t go up to random white woman and ask them to lunch. That suggestion, to me, sounds like more seeing the difference than not.  We are different.

I am a female. So I’m different than my husband.

We think differently. We enjoy different things.

I am a white female, just like my mom. We don’t even like the same stuff…. except brownies, we both love those, but she chooses to mess hers up with nuts in them.

As a whole, I think black people are better at sports. And dancing. Shall we see the difference or should the white guy be put on the team just because there are too many blacks and it’s not diverse enough? I actually right now can’t think of anything white people do better. I know for me personally,  it ain’t sports, or dancing, or singing.

If a policeman says to stop and put your hands up, guess what? I think you should do that. Regardless of color.

I do get some people are prejudice. Some people are not. Not that my thoughts matter but I don’t care if different races marry and that being “equally yoked” is much more important, as in both believers.

If I’m out walking a trail and I see a male, guess what I’m more cautious than I am if I see a female. Does that make me a chauvinist? No, It makes me smart. Well, smart would not be a female out on the trail alone.

So, I don’t care what color your skin is. Do I see that it may be different than mine? sure do. I’m not blind. Do I want African American stuff slammed in my face? No, no I don’t and if you’re non-white ask yourself. Do you want segregation still or might we all just be one race, the human race who has similarities and differences other than skin color being what we talk about?
