Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty is the only book I made time to read in October other than my NC magazines too. I liked the cover on this. After reading it, I’m not positive what the cover had to do with the book, but still, it was unique and interesting and what made me add it to my reading list. I’m not really sure what other cover photo would have worked better? The Australian author does have a different cover for the AU, UK and US title. I have not read Big Little Lies, or any other books by Moriarty. I liked reading something different from what I’ve been reading but don’t see me picking up another with the language in it, as there are too many other good books out there that don’t do that.
You guys by now know I hate it when a book takes the Lord’s name in vain. This one did 3x and even had a reference to Jesus Wept. Normally I would’ve stopped. They were spread out and I already wanted to find out what happened to characters so I kept reading, going against my typical standards.
I chuckled to myself so many times in this book because I identified with Frances, the main character. Maybe because she was a middle-aged writer, overweight, thought all sorts of stuff she thought but didn’t say? Yep, the last one. It’s listed on Amazon under Dark Humor. Not sure what that says about me?

I tend to like thrillers, law, mysteries or Christian based novels. I seem to be finding new authors all the time that I enjoy reading. I do not want to read books where they take the Lord’s name in vain, have a lot of graphic violence, are about sports and I’m really not into non-fiction history.

Here is my pinboard on NC Authors, and my post about what I think authors want you to know. I will be compiling a pinboard of books added to my “want to read” list. The main local library has a newsletter that almost every month has a list called “Reginal Roundups” and it’s a great way to find local authors.
