About Kimberly H Maxwell

Kimberly-H-Maxwell-w-3-titles-and-web-smallWife, mom to children with fur, book cover designer, photographer, animal lover, author of the books “The Friendly Floppy Ragdoll Cat,” and “You Had Me at Meow.”  I was in retail furniture and interior design for 20 years, 15 of those self-employed.

I was a professional member of CWA, the Cat Writers Association from 2012 thru 2016. I am currently a member of several Ragdoll cat groups, writer groups, photography and camera clubs.

Look above at the different page tabs to connect, for book cover design and book cover photography, cats, the cat books I’ve authored, my items for sale, my random thoughts, and photography. The “Catch all” page is just that. It is all my post by date with the exception of the pet food recalls that can be found under their own tab. FYI pet food recall post will occassionally have the oldest post deleted so if you’re interested in those it’s a good idea to sign up to receive our post by email – right over there to your right is the sign up button.

You can help support by simply clicking thru the Amazon Associate links from my site, as I get a small commission and I  can continue to bring reviews and details about cat info, WNC area or photography.  All my research, spreadsheets, comparing and time telling you about my findings should at least be worth a click -right? Every click thru to purchase helps, and I thank you.

I have not been paid for any of my reviews. I’ll be sure to let you know if by chance a company sees my review and gives me free product or payment for it 🙂

Guess I’m in Generation X. Younger than the Baby Boomers, thankfully older and before i-everything Millennials. I am happily married to my best friend for over 28 years. I like spending time with my family, my furbabies and friends, photography, design, animals (especially cats and horses) reading, walks, easy hikes, finding waterfalls, naps, fudgy brownies, reading, watching movies, the crisp colors of Autumn and I love Jesus.

I’m not a fan of any sports, sushi, onions, pinto beans, migraines, fake people, or bullies. I have had other blogs in the past on Blogger and Multiply and some others but this one is my latest one. Hopefully I’ll be here awhile. I have no system or pattern to how often I post. I post pet food recalls as soon as I see them, but the rest of the post all get writen when I make the time. There is usually at least one photo post per month that coincides with the local camera clubs theme.  Other than that, with as varried as my interest are, you may see three a week or three a month. Just like my tag line “Covers, Cats and Clicks”  you find post about books, book covers, book cover design, cats especially Ragdoll Cats and Clicks is about photography. I post my thoughts and reviews on those things plus my thoughts on life in geneeral or products we’ve tried.

My books of course, were edited— this blog however is not. No grammar or spelling police here please. I write like I think and talk and it is in no way correct.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Kim

Separate from the credits for sale, these are the books I have on there and would sell for the same price as the credits. our home is smoke free.

I have 50+ book credits on paperback to sell but I’m on A La Carte plan and can not list them in their Discussion Forum topic in the Book Bazaar Discussion Forum without being an annual member. Must be a paperback swap member for me to transfer them after payment. You use credits to get books. You can use the credits to swap with anyone on Paperback Swap.

$4 each for buying less than 10
$3.50 each for buying 10-25
$3. each for buying 25 or more

Lastly, let me recommend two books that helped us.

I’ve had migraines for years. A few before my 30’s then they hit worse often taking up 17 days per month for about 10 years. I kept a log of what I ate, my cycle, activities, the weather and I found this book very helpful. Migraines run in my family and they took off horrible when my dad got cancer. I’ve learned a lot over the years, my triggers, or combo of triggers etc and to just stop and take Imitrex at the start, instead of trying to save the (only 9) pills they’d Rx a month when we used to have a doctor. Thankfully a few years ago they started letting up quite a bit. Let me suggest this book, The Migraine Brain by Carolyn Bernstein M.D. and Elaine McArdle. http://amzn.to/2givvre

A migraine is so much worse than just a bad headache. My world comes to a screeching halt and often they don’t just come, I take meds and they’re gone. They linger, they’ll mostly respond to meds but may roll back worse and can last for days. Sometimes they hit all of a sudden but the effects linger making it hard to think, to concentrate, to see light or movement and often my entire body aches afterward and I feel completely drained. All my plans and good intentions of what I planned to do are put on hold and I appreciate your understanding – especially if you are waiting on me to work on your job or we had plans that have to be postponed.

My husband went undiagnosed/misdiagnosed for about 10-12 years with the celiac disease. They tested for all sorts of things but unfortunately, they did not test for celiac. Years went by and he kept eating gluten until eventually, he got DH, a skin disease that manifests from continued ingestion of celiac. Only 20% of celiacs have this. Had he been tested for the autoimmune disease and got off gluten he may never have developed this itchy skin rash that looks like he’ll always have to take meds for even though he has been gluten-free for years. A big thank you to the RN at the dermatologist for recognizing and testing for what doctors missed. I don’t like to cook. Never have- and now it’s a tad harder. The learning curve was steep we tried tons of gluten-free products and have found some now he likes and I can cook with. It’s best just to eat naturally gluten-free food instead of substitutes like prepackaged and it’s hard to dine out. All that to say this book helped.

    Hi Kim,
Glad you’re following my blog. Now I’m following yours. Trying to get back to writing again after a really bad dry spell (it’s a long story…).
Hope your book is selling like gangbusters!

The books are doing well and I’m truly enjoying designing book covers- I prefer being artistic, over writing. I’ve actually been following, and commenting on your G+ post for awhile now. I just recently decided to incorporate this blog and spend some time trying to learn WordPress. Better late than never- right? I envy those of you who have multiple books in them.
