and why is it, I can read fiction books so much quicker?
I guess it depends on why I read. Fiction is easy, it takes me away. I remember as a kid there was a reading program with a dog, McDuff? That probably just really dated me, either the reading dog or the fact that I can’t remember it was so long ago. Anyway being an only child and enjoying reading ended up scoring some sort of reward for the number of books read.

A few updates since my only (non-recall) post this year except for Tyler’s birthday. I’ll try to get back into a post here and there besides just putting up pet food recalls. I see I started one from last August that I never put up. Maybe I’ll do a flashback and post it too. Who knows. The best-laid plans and all.
You Had Me at Meow my little paperback I was motivated to write because of Trinity has been out 6 years today.
My mom bought the series but we were both reading the second one, Dominion at the same time so I got a copy from the library. This is one thick book to finish in 3 weeks while you have lots of other stuff going on. My mom loaned me book 3, Deception with the promise she’d ask for it back if she got to it before I finished it.
I get the title is catchy and I always learn something, but geez nothing like feeling stupid 🙂 I’d guess over half the book applies to all photography, not just the Nikon D3500 operation. I did visit Nikon’s own website (Japan) to watch a video, where I learned I’ve been pronouncing it wrong. It’s “knee-con instead of nigh-con” and some even say “Nick-on”. Seems there are lots of post about how you’re supposed to say Nikon. Bet they don’t care how you say it as long as you buy their brand.
If you are not a photographer… skip this one. You’ll likely be bored. Continue reading
is Deadline by Randy Alcorn published in 2006. I reserved a copy of Nikon D3500 For Dummies by Julie Adair King from our library, but it took a long time before it was available and then came in right during Christmas. I doubt I’ll get started on it until 2020. I think I’ll keep an eye out for it or David Busch’s Nikon D3500 Guide to Digital SLR Photography by David D. Busch on ebay for a used copy after I take the time to go thru the manual. Hate guessing where you change settings at!
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty is the only book I made time to read in October other than my NC magazines too. I liked the cover on this. After reading it, I’m not positive what the cover had to do with the book, but still, it was unique and interesting and what made me add it to my reading list. I’m not really sure what other cover photo would have worked better? The Australian author does have a different cover for the AU, UK and US title. I have not read Big Little Lies, or any other books by Moriarty. I liked reading something different from what I’ve been reading but don’t see me picking up another with the language in it, as there are too many other good books out there that don’t do that. I think it’s odd how so many of my book reading themes have been alike lately. That’s like three on orphans/adoptions and three about a circus. I can tell you for my September reading, I’m actually going to read the blurb and NOT pick anything to do with orphans, trains or circuses. I would like to read a single POV also. I’m growing a tad weary of the multiple alternating ones.
In fact, I may take a break in September and just catch up on other stuff. Autumn is just around the corner and I’d rather be outside.
