The camera club went the night before to the Pixie Forest near Graybeard Overlook on the BRP. I didn’t make that trip, but we woke up to fog and had a day we could go goof together till about midday, so we headed that way. Continue reading
Last year I was hit with being disabling dizzy. It lasted several days I remember going with my hubby to Roan Mountain before it was completely gone.
This year it hit again in the evening with no warning. That night was bad, the entire next day was so bad I felt like I had to lay down and hang on to the bed. I couldn’t do much of anything. The next day was some better, followed by the next day where I went on a photo outing with a new friend, Karen, I met at the local camera club.
I don’t really blame the new owners, but it makes me appreciate the previous owners even more than I already did! They didn’t have to share the waterfall in their backyard, yet they did. Continue reading
It was a great week! The ponies were great. The weather was perfect.
I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday. Continue reading
Even though we typically only go somewhere goofing off a few times per month and we split them up more, we just had to take advantage of the cooler weather!
I’d been to Linville Caverns so long ago that no part of it look familiar or was tucked away in my memory. That may be a good thing because it mostly it was wet, cramped and the only thing I really heard was to watch our heads. We were with family so that made it all okay, just spending time with them. I took four photos but the only one I liked was the cobweb I saw while we were waiting. Continue reading
Hubby cut off work a little early one day this month and we ate dinner out, a rarity for us, at Hawg Wild in Pisgah Forest. Then to Skinny Dip Falls.
This cold I’ve had seems like it will never go away, at least the cough and tired part. Grant you, I’m not coughing enough to try the Fisherman cough drops that were recommended. I’ve stopped the mega Vitamin C doses and seriously doubt I’m still contagious, so I’ll be venturing out in public again. It always bugs me when someone out spreading their various bugs about in places so I tried to stay home and not share. I’ve washed my hands so much they’re dry and itchy, but I think hubby has avoided this catching one.
I didn’t carry the tripod so I didn’t capture my typical waterfall photos of Pot Branch Falls. Should’ve worn my rainboots so I could just walk through the 2 streams getting there. Maybe in several years after I wait for the tree to fall in the middle of the falls, I’ll go back, and the pretty Rotweiller is a friend’s girl. Continue reading
On the way to our first waterfall, as we passed near the Davidson river, I was on the lookout for the eagle that had been spotted near there. I saw something large and hubby turned around and went back. I still couldn’t tell what it was until it turned its head revealing it was a heron. Continue reading
